Proposed for prolonged Metro line 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien section reach to Dong Nai province.

VNExpress (25 January 2016): Metro line 1 of HCMC (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien) nearly 20 km in length is suggested for prolonging of 5 km in length reach to Vung Tau intersection, Dong Nai province.

People’s Committee of Dong Nai province has proposed the Ministry of Transportation consider for prolonged metro line 1 of Ho Chi Minh City is 4.7 km - to Vung Tau intersection - to reduce personal car into the city and congestion at the east gateway of Ho Chi Minh City. The reason is that Dong Nai is located adjacent to the eastern gate of Ho Chi Minh City, there are a lot of cars, and there are 29 industrial parks – the people traveling between Dong Nai province and HCMC is huge.

This proposal of Dong Nai also based on to the planned adjustment of transportation developed HCMC in 2020 and after 2020 vision has been Prime Minister approved. Eight metro line of HCMC will connect to adjacent satellite towns such as Thu Dau 1, Bien Hoa and Tan An...

Including investment research prolonged metro line 1 to the junction of Market Sat, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province. Another advantage is the Dong Nai has available land to build urban rail lines and stations through Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Zone, to the clearance of the project is not large.

Meanwhile, Binh Duong province is also researching to build metro line to link from new city of Binh Duong to Suoi Tien of metro line 1 in HCM City.
