The impediment of Metro Line 1 in Ho Chi Minh City was removed.


After many negotiations, the last company in Binh Duong province has agreed to hand over site to execute Metro Line 1 in Ho Chi Minh City (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien).
On 30th March, Nguyen Thi Luong, Director of Commercial Services Ltd Vinh Phat at Binh Thang Ward, Di An Town (Binh Duong) signed a memorandum of hand over site for Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Construction Project - investor of Metro line 1 project (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien).

Representatives of the Management Authority for Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway said that, the contractor will install fence around the immediately and carry out the construction such as:  bored piles, make foundation, bridge pile,….  Althought, Vinh Phat Company didn’t hand over site but the company allowed contractor entered land for geologizes, to calculate and design to serve construction.

The land of Vinh Phat company has an area nearly 2ha, this land has 3 projects are crossing include: Metro line 1project, Extend Ha Noi HighWay and New Eastern bus station. During land clearance, authorities imposed $ 125 billion for the all area and property on this land but the company didn’t agree and go complaint.

After many meetings, dialogue with authorities, now Vinh Phat Company accepts receive 70 billion – this is compensation fromUrban Railway Construction Project,Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien & Expansion Ha Noi highway. Private new Eastern Bus station Project, Vinh Phat Company is remaining claim for compensation, haven’t received compensation.

Atthe meeting for testing about implementationof Ho Chi Minh Urban Railway Construction Project,Line 1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien) in last August, Hoang Trung Hai - Deputy Prime Ministerrequired Binh Duong province have to hand over site before 31stOctober. However, it takes six months, site hand over to the investor.

 

The project Metro Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien has a total capital of 2.49 billion USD (47,000 billion VND) was started in August 2012. According to the design, the project is nearly 20 km in length. It will pass through District 1,2, 9, Binh Thanh District, Thu Duc District of Ho Chi Minh City and Di An town of Binh Duong Province. In which, about 2.6 km underground (3 stations) and over 17 km elevated (11 stations).
